Dr. Steve Tillett
Steve Tillett is the king of BBQ (in his own backyard), and the son of a butcher. He barbeques year-round for his wife and children, even in the Portland, Oregon, rain. Raised in central Washington, he spent many years in the South and Midwest perfecting his barbeque recipes as he finished his medical residency, where his BBQ style flourished. Over the past couple of decades, he has created a group of recipes in his own backyard that are fun and delicious by any BBQ warrior’s standard..
This book is dedicated to Suzanne Taylor, whose vision helped bring this book to fruition,and to my father the butcher, who taught me to BBQ and has always inspired me to accomplish anything I want to achieve. Also, to my beautiful wife and best friend, Sharon (queen of the kitchen), and to my children Chris, Andie, Kittie, and Matthew, who have survived my many BBQ experiments, and are still willing to be my honorable taste testers. And finally, to my friends Stephanie Lamberson, Tiffany Felt, Jennifer Waldrip, the salmon king Jeff Tillett, G-ma Tillett, Grandma Barbara Gibbs, my little friend Coach Solomona Tapasa, Janice Horschel, Jennifer Pfleiger, and others who contributed their favorite family recipes to this collection.
